The smart phone is both a gift and a curse. It was designed to be the slave but has become the master in so many ways.
The ability to have a computer in the palm of my hand that can assist in the complex daily task is amazing.
I have to remember to stay focused on what’s important and not get sucked into the negativity associated with social media.
Invest in your body as it is probably the single most important investment we can make in our life. Without our health life is harder. If we invest 30 minutes a day being more healthy it will pay huge dividends.
Invest in learning new things. This strengthens the brain and opens it up so new ideas can form.
Invest in personal development and understanding who you really are, what you really want from life and how to accomplish it. You have a gift to give the world. Figure out what it is.
Invest in relationships as they can enrich our life deeply. As we go through life we are blessed with a few very close friends. Go deep and not wide.
Invest in finances as there will be a rainy day. You can and should build a financial bubble around your family and then expand it to your close friends. If you are disciplined with money you can make a huge difference in other people’s lives too.
We are all investors and must invest our time. Of all our resources time is the one thing we can’t make more of. Choose wisely who you give your time too.

This sounds simple but it will show us that we have weaknesses in an area.
Simple but not easy.
Most will not do this for fear of exposing an area of weakness. For our ego is a strong force to harness.

He says you are just wasting time if you are, “going after no fixed goal.”
You must have an end goal.
Time is limited, you have to know how to use it properly.
It is not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste a lot of it. Life is long enough, and a sufficiently generous amount has been given to us for the highest achievements if it were all well invested. But when it is wasted in heedless luxury and spent on no good activity, we are forced at last by death’s final constraint to realize that it has passed away before we knew it was passing.
So it is: we are not given a short life but we make it short, and we are not ill-supplied but wasteful of it… Life is long if you know how to use it.
Can you answer these three questions?
1. What is your end game goal?
2. What frivolous activity are your doing?
3. Which area of your life is going to make you more of a philosopher?
Consider what he says and ponder the questions.

Can you believe January is almost over?
It’s around this time, the end of the first month of the year, that most people give up on their New Year’s Resolutions.
Don’t be one of those people.
Keep your goals in front of you and be relentless with achieving them.
If you have writing goals, and you should, now is a good time to print them out and post them in places you are frequently at.
Make it a point to read them daily and picture in your mind what it looks like to achieve them.

I’ve found the best thing for me to stay on track is to get up early and spend the first two hours of the day working on me and developing the good habits that move me toward my goals.
Even if my day falls apart I know I am moving toward what I want my life to be.
My Morning Routine is loosely built around these main points:
-Get up early
-Eat a high protein breakfast
-Workout for 15 to 30 min
-Read a self help or skill book for 15 to 30 min
-Review my short & long term goals
-Think in silence for 10 min
-Review my day
-Write in my journal for 10 min
The attached picture shows my actual planned routine as of this posting. It varies some based on what I have going on and what I want to work on.
For the most part I adjust my routine slightly every 90 days or so.

The routine list is built to serve my goals. The things I do in the morning are to move me closer to the person I want to be. This is what excites me and keeps me engaged it the early morning hours.

Ps. I highly recommend The Miracle Morning book by Hal Elrod. It’s a great place to start designing your day, week, month and life.
…surround yourself with people who are obsessed with trying to shape the future, not people living in the past.
It really is true that you become like the people you hang around. This can be good and bad depending on who you choose to be around.
Health, wealth, love and happiness are all learned skilled or traits. We all have some inclination toward one or all of these but we learn how to create these in our lives.
We learn what to eat to be healthy. We learn what to say and how to say it to create deep lasting relationships. We learn how to develop a skill to market for income and so on.
Mentors, or people who are doing the things you want to do and are willing to show you the way, are the secret to success in most all areas of your life.
Have you humbled yourself to accept the instructions of a mentor?
If not think about where you are in life and where you want to be in 1 year, 3 years and 10 years from now.
How will you get there?
What skills do you need to learn?
Who is doing what you want to do and can call or meet with today?
